I am Daniel Simons. I have been an IT consultant for 20 years, working in corporate and independent consulting environments. With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Freed Hardeman University in 2005 and his Master of Science in Cyber Security with Honors from Capital Technology University in 2011, I have both the book knowledge and hands on experience to get the job done.

Typically working with small and mid-size businesses including medical, dental, law, manufacturing, non-profits, and municipal utilities, but have also worked with mega corporations such as Kaiser Permanente Health Care, Tennessee Valley Authority, Kirklands, and Zander Insurance.  I am an expert at IT security including HIPPA and PCI compliance holding CISSP and CEH certificates.

I complete tasks in a timely manner. Whether it's a project estimate, implementation or crisis response, I am efficient, focused and persistent to get your need addressed. 

I create resilient technology solutions meeting industry standards in security and redundancy to keep to keep clients at optimal operations. I am especially talented at finding the best fit for clients to balance performance, cost and security. I effectively engage with software and hardware vendors for the clients benefit. When performance issues arise, my clients describe me as a bulldog; I find the problem and the solution.

• Develop plans of action to migrate customers to cloud and multi-cloud hybrid from on-premises environments. 
• System administration of legacy and modern Windows, Linux, and Mac OS server solutions.
• Manage, maintain, and support endpoint security and next generation anti-virus solutions such as Crowdstrike and Carbonblack.
• Implement, manage, and support enterprise directory, messaging, database, and web hosting solutions based on Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, and

• Debug performance problems using Wireshark, Process Monitor, Sysinternals toolset, Process Explorer, event logs, etc.
• Install, support, and harden perimeter firewalls - Fortigate, Sonicwall, Watchguard, Cisco, etc.
• Skilled in SAN and NAS enterprise storage such as EMC, Nimble, HPE, and Equallogic using ISCSI and fiber channel connectivity.
• Design disaster recovery and business continuity solutions using high availability, replication, deduplication.
• Develop and recommend new and/or revised inspection, evaluation, and penetration testing methodologies for cyber security appraisals.
• Provide recommendations on implementation strategies and policy recommendations based on industry best practices and governing directives.
• Investigate cyber security breaches from triage to full recovery of business processes. 
• Experienced with post-mortem analysis of breaches and use of forensic tools such as FTP, Encase, etc.
